Clyde Space are continually improving our products for better performance and lifetime.

CubeSat EPS Rev E

Revision E of the Clyde Space CubeSat EPS has been fitted with an onboard diode which prevents power from an illuminated solar panel being drained by the opposite panel in eclipse. 

Revisions C and D of the EPS require a cable harness with inline blocking diodes fitted; customers should contact Clyde Space to obtain these cable assemblies.

CubeSat Battery Boards Rev E

Rev E of the CubeSat battery board includes an updated overcurrent protection circuit .   Rev E also has an integrated cell balancing circuit which ensures that the cells remain at an equivalent state of charge during operation, and therefore maximises the battery life.

Previous revisions of the battery board included a Maxim chip for overcurrent protection.  We have found that the Maxim chip has an undesirable function that could lock the battery off under a certain condition and not allow it to re-start.  The Maxim chip is an industry standard for battery monitoring and protection.
