Our Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Strathclyde, which represents a key building block to the development of our market leading CubeSat platform, has been nominated for the KTP Engineering Excellence Award 2012 to be held later this year. The selection panel for the KTP Engineering Excellence Award highly commended the work performed under the KTP, recognising the contribution to the KTP has made to the company.
The KTP has resulted in the development of a highly capable, CubeSat platform design, manufacture and test capability at Clyde Space, building on the numerous market leading subsystem products already produced by the company. The Clyde Space CubeSat platform will be first demonstrated in space on the UK's first CubeSat mission, UKube-1, commissioned by the UK Space Agency and due to launch early 2013. UKube-1 carries SIX complex payloads from various organisations from across the UK and will also be the first spacecraft ever to be designed and manufactured in Scotland. Below is an image of what UKube-1 looks like in flight configuration.
