World’s First Online Spacecraft 10% OFF Sale; in Celebration of Clyde Space’s 5th Birthday

25 May 2010

Scotland's nanosatellite specialist company, Clyde Space, celebrates being five years old on the 25th May. Founded in 2005 by, ex-Surrey Satellite Technology Limited employee, Craig Clark, Clyde Space has focussed on design and manufacture of subsystems for small satellites and nanosatellites. In the five years since its founding, we have established ourselves as a leading CubeSat system provider, supplying over 120 CubeSat power systems and batteries to mission teams all over the world. We have also, significantly, established the world's first online spacecraft shop for CubeSat customers, heralding a new approach to spacecraft procurement and rapid response space systems.

Happy BirthdayTo celebrate our 5th birthday, this week we are giving our new and existing customers 10% OFF all Clyde Space CubeSat products when bought from our online shop. Sale products include our high performance CubeSat Electrical Power Systems, Batteries and Solar Panels, suitable for all sizes of CubeSat. To get 10% off, all you need to do is register on our website, send us and email and the 10% OFF is all yours. The offer runs from the May 25th to midnight PST on June 1st.

Craig Clark, CEO of Clyde Space, says, 'In the last 5 years we've tried to bring a different approach to satellite engineering, and satellite procurement, with our CubeSat work. We also have enjoyed getting involved in more traditional spacecraft engineering projects too - to be successful in the space industry I think you have to do both. Both I and the team here have had the pleasure of working with some fantastic people in organisations all over the world; in terms of people who love their jobs and what they do, I think the space industry is second to none.'

Ritchie Logan, Business Development Manager at Clyde Space says, 'What better way for Clyde Space to celebrate 5 years changing the dynamics of the industry than to have another first - the first sale in the first online CubeSat shop. It is a bit gimmicky, but it is also an excellent demonstration of the way satellite procurement is changing. We might be the first to have a sale, but I suspect we won't be the last.'
