Clyde Space are working in collaboration with Mars Space, Southampton University and the European Space Agency to develop a micro-scale electric thruter for CubeSats. This will be small enough to be compatible with the 1U platform. Having a standard propulsion device for CubeSats will increase the versatility of the platform, allowing more flexible missions.
To further develop the CubeSat Platform, Clyde Space have designed a deployable CubeSat EPS which is capable of supporting up to 40W (currently, we aim to increase this to 50W).
We have plenty more concepts currently in development, and hope to announce these soon, so stay tuned!
