ISIS CubeSat Structure 4U

The ISIS CubeSat structure is a developed as a generic satellite structure based upon the CubeSat standard. The design created by ISIS allows for multiple configurations as to give the nanosatellite developers the freedom to develop their satellite with respect to the basic lay-out of their internal configuration. This design concept, together with the accessibility of the internal subsystems even afterassembly creates an open structure which is easy and straightforward to use.

The ISIS CubeSat structure is based on a modular frame in combination with shear panels and is designed for:

Unique Integration Concept

The ISIS CubeSat structures allow you to integrate a stack of PCBs into the secondary structure first, guaranteeing maximum accessibility

Side frames and shear panels can be added after the integration and checkout of all the boards

From the 2U version and up it is even possible to accommodate different board orientations into the same structure.

All parts are machined (milled) to production tolerances of 0.1 [mm] or better.

  • Outside envelope: 100 x 100 x 454,0 [mm] (4U)
  • Inner envelope: 98,4 x 98,4 x 98,4 [mm] (for each of the 4 PCB Stacks)

• Thermal Range: -40°C to +80°C

• Qualification Levels:
  • Quasi Static Load: 10,8 [g] three axis
  • Vibration Levels:
    • Sine: ASAP5 Qualification Levels
    • Random: ASAP5 Qualification Levels

• Available options:
  • The CubeSat structure comes standard with a redundant Kill Switch Mechanism with integrated separation springs; the use of this system is optional.
