This is a z-axis magnetorquer, designed to fit on the CubeSat 'end' between the P-POD interface feet. The design consists of a large number of turns in PCB track and can be integrated with a solar panel if preferred.
The magnetorquer has a mass of 50g, whcih is due to the high number of layers (14) and the weight of the copper (3oz), which were required to achieve a magnetic moment of 0.19Am2 in such as small area.
The dimensions are 100mm x 100mm x 4.3mm leaving room for a 0.4mm thick Clyde Space top solar panel providing over 2W of power on this facet. Please contact us for more information on this solar panel additional option.
